09/26/2000 A new type of ink jet material for photo, office and art printing
September 26, 2000- Tetenal launched at the world's fair of imaging, Photokina 2000, new high-quality ink jet materials for special applications while rearranging the existing range of the proven spectra jet product line. Professionals as well as committed amateurs will in future be able to choose from three ranges (spectra jet Photoquality, spectra jet Office Photo, spectra jet Fine Art) the medium best suited for different requirements and output destinations:

spectra jet Photoquality
Thanks to their excellent photographic quality, the high glossy or matte papers meet the highest demands for photo-realistic representation:
The Glossy Paper 160 g possesses a very high ink absorption capacity as well as excellent image whites. It tolerates even suboptimal driver settings and, thank to its excellent value for money, is an ideal paper for starting into ink-jet photo printing.
The new High Glossy Paper DC 210 g, printable on both sides, is impressive due to its brilliant whites and its excellent gloss. Thanks to its glossy front and matte back, this water-resistant paper is very versatile and can be employed for various purposes.
The Portrait Paper 240 g, which will also be introduced for the first time at photokina 2000, is especially designed for the rendering of high-quality portraits as well as for professional proofs. Its matte surface and the excellent white base, achieved through a special PE support material, make it impossible to distinguish it from a conventional portrait photo. In addition, the material is water-repellant and smear-proof. For the Portrait Paper, ICC profiles are available.
The High Glossy Paper Special 264 g is the premium paper of the spectra jet line, whose distinctive features are its heavy weight and the special PE (polyethylene) coating as well as its intense white base and brilliant colour reproduction, giving the paper a look and feel that makes it virtually undistinguishable from photographic paper. Thanks to the ultra-fine cavity technology, the ink is accepted quickly and evenly, but water is rejected. After only a few seconds, the High Glossy Paper Special is smear proof and even wet fingers won't cause smearing. Of course, ICC profiles are also available for this paper for selected printers.
spectra jet Office Photo
This range is especially directed at (home) office ink jet users, who can do without high-glossy media for their layout purposes, but cannot and will not do without the proven Tetenal quality. The Perfect Print Paper 120 g as well as the double sided Duo Print Paper 130 g are matte coated materials and lend themselves especially to high-quality text or graphics, but also photo-realistic printing. The ultra-white material, which can absorb a high amount of ink and dries very quickly and thus is ideally suited for batch processing, offers excellent value for money: in a test of the German IT magazine ComputerBild (Issue 15/2000), both papers were given best price-performance-ratings ("sehr gut"), and the Perfect Print Paper 120 g was winner of the test for the best price-performance-ratio ("Preis-Leistungs-Sieger").

spectra jet Fine Art
With this completely new designed range for art lovers, the Tetenal product specialists have achieved something very special: although the Canvas Textile is a coated cotton fabric and the Aquarell Paper 230 g a genuine deckle-edge paper, no compromises have to be made with regard to the output of photo-realistic images even for highest demands. In the same time, a special ink jet coating preserves the look and feel of the materials' structure as it is known from the art field. Both materials possess a strong colour rendering, a very high colour differentiation as well as a high definition. In addition to individual photo-realistic printouts for special events and marketing (invitations, certificates, etc. ), the Fine Art line allows for high-quality art reproductions: due to its integrated cotton layer, the Canvas Textile offers the look and feel of a 'painted' picture.

The spectra jet product range
Thanks to its brilliant whites, its high-definition, brilliant and colour-intensive image rendering and its water-resistant and fast-drying characteristics, the spectra jet product range has found an excellent market position in a very short time. A broad R&D program ensures that the ink jet special papers are constantly adapted to the state-of-the-art printer generations. In order to provide consumers with user-relevant research results (e.g. printer-specific driver settings or the optimal combination of output device and output medium), Tetenal has been providing phone- and internet-based support services for years. Along with the rearrangement of the spectra jet program for photokina 2000, the packaging design has also undergone a complete relaunch.
