DPI Innovator Award Recognizes Lifetime Digital Imaging Impact.
May 13, 2005, Fairfax, Virginia — An exciting new spotlight will shine on digital imaging when DPI, the digitally-focused division of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association, presents the first-ever "DPI Innovator Award" at SGIA ‘05 (New Orleans, September 28-October 1).
“The competition for this honor will be stiff. Each year, the award will recognize an individual who has made a strong, significant and lasting impact on materials, equipment, technologies and/or markets for the digital imaging industry,” said Dan Marx, DPI Director of Communications & Service Development.
“It’s about the ingenuity inherent in digital imaging,” said SGIA/DPI President Michael Robertson. “New developments in digital printing ripple through the marketplace, affecting everyone in the specialty imaging arena. The DPI Innovator Award will draw attention to the many creative and innovative people who move digital imaging — and the whole industry — forward.”
Only SGIA/DPI members may nominate award recipients, although the winner does not have to belong to the Association. Judging will be handled by a committee of DPI members before it-s turned over to a panel of past winners in five years. Additional information, including nomination instructions, is online at SGIA.org. Nominations must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2005.
SGIA is Leading a New Generation of Imaging Professionals — “Specialty imaging” comprises digital imaging, screen printing and the many other imaging technologies SGIA members use, including those they-ll tap in the future. These are the imaging processes and technologies employed to create new products and to enhance existing products including point-of-purchase displays, signs, advertisements, garments, containers, and vehicles. To make the most of your specialty imaging business, take full advantage of the information on SGIA.org. Then, experience the specialty graphic imaging industry first-hand at SGIA ‘05 (September 28-October 1, New Orleans, Louisiana.)
